Holy crap, Simon Chapman speaks the truth?!?

Professor Simon Chapman and third hand smoke

I can't help wonder what his motivation on this is. Some of my more skeptical friends have suggested that this is a way of getting "Third Hand Smoke" back in the spotlight. It's not like he hasn't backflipped before.

What I don't understand is the testing of residual nicotine. I've been told before that nicotine rapidly breaks down in the environment (1-5 days). Unless tobacco "tar" has a way of making it last longer?

apparently they use to use nicotine in pesticides as it breaks down very quickly....I think that the article I read said something like 20 minutes after spraying they could pick the crops (I'd have to check back)...
