This is my response and the way I see the situation around Nicotine.

High potency Nicotine should remain a toxic poison.
However nicotine in the diluted form that vapors use should be made legal!
This would fall into line with the Freely available cleaning products we buy and use everyday.
Most of which would be toxic in their undiluted form.

My 2 cents is that I haven't signed it and I won't. The reason I haven't signed it is that it asks for exactly what TC want. ie. they want TGA approval requirements and a "safe and effective product to quit smoking". That makes it a medicinal claim.

This is interesting reading from NZ. I'd suggest one of these models is what some in TC see as a way forward and the petition basically hands it to them on a platter. Personally I couldn't think of anything worse than the options outlined below.

    The reasons for the petition....

"The australian vaping community is hindered by one fact, We have to source our nicotine from overseas. Not only is this a hit to our wallets, It hits the economy and takes our money elsewhere. Vaping is a safe and effective way to help smokers stop smoking and live healthier lives. Another reason these nicotine laws need to be changed is the use of other quit smoking aids such as nicotine patches and gum are allowed for sale and production within australia and yet vapers are not allowed to put nicotine in their eliquid to the same effect.

Passing a law for regulated nicotine sales in australia will not only help boost our economy but allow it easier for smokers to make the switch over to a safer healthier life."

Davi do you think you will ever be able to legally mix your own eliquid containing nicotine? Serious question as I'm just wondering what sort of goals you are hoping to achieve with your lobbying.

The UK model at the moment. One that has seen 400,000 people stop smoking in the last year alone taking the total to 1.1million exclusive vapers that were once smokers. One where stop smoking services work hand in hand with vape shops.
