    Fact Sheet

It may be worthwhile for AVF members to compile a fact sheet of formal responses to the objections different parties have to ecigs. It could draw on known research and observations by experts and draw on/address some of the issues raised by Peter Phelps in his address to parliament.

For instance it could respond to the arguments of the Cancer Council who want to ban ecigs outright because their goal is to see smoking completely disappear. A great aim but one that doesn't take into account the needs of the 15-20% of the population that still smoke because the quit aids 'Legally'on the market don't address the needs of this residual. A response to this could look at the success rate of vapers and the value that success has on their health, to the community and the health budget. Something hinted at in Nick's post - the lowdown on dry burning, organic juices, nickel coils and vaping in general and the subsequent post by Coxy, where ecigs could have a success rate of around 40%.

It would need to be refined and maybe looked at by a publicist to ensure it doesn't backfire.

I always voted for the greens and labour, I don't like Tony Abott, but hey, he is holidaying while Joe hockey is doing all the work and I like his $20k grant for small business, I don't want to get into the specifics for that but anyone who leaves e-cigs alone gets my next vote.
