FDA just knobbled the US vapour market...

FDA deeming regulation on e-cigarettes: an effective ban on most (and on most effective) products

I haven't had time to look at what American vapers are saying yet, or how they are going to deal with, and exactly what it will mean for them.

A quick look on ECF seems to indicate the main result from this if enforced will be a huge black market trade in devices and liquids. Pretty well all small businesses (in the states) will have to shut down if it's enforced in three months time though...

least they didn't ban it outright. so silver lining and all that.

a thought just crossed my mind, i wonder if joyetech knew this was going to happen.
they made the AIO. as a all in one unit it would be cheaper to get registered in the states then a traditional system.

No joyetech made the AIO the way it did to comply with the EU regulations i.e. child locks ect....

It's going to put most of the small juice companies in the states out of business though, and you probably won't be able to buy nicotine. It will cost hundreds of dollars to get approval for one juice, imagine trying to get approval for a complete line.

My understanding is that there is a two year grace period, but only if they do the application for that product. They've come down hard on hardware too. That will probably get most of the small modders out of the market.

Yes most of the manufacturers have had their eyes on upcoming regulation in the UK and US.

I think that the first thing that is going to happen is we will see a drastic reduction in the number companies making pre-mixed in the states, and a reduction in the number of flavours available. It's not clear what will happen to the concentrate market. Companies like TPA might be able to slide under the wire though - nowhere on their site is the word "vape" or "e-cig" etc. Very smart.

Edit: come to think about it, I don't there's ever been anything specifically about vaping on the TPA site.
