Yeah just read it and popped over to aussievapers to see if it was here.

My reaction: Positive press, positive press! Oh. Nicopharm. It's an advertisement.

"E-cigarettes are becoming more popular, costing around 17 cents a cigarette compared to more than $1 for a conventional cigarette."

How did they get the 17c figure? To justify nicopharm's prescription and retail cost?

Nicopharm certainly has its timing right on the money, considering what's been happening in Vic and SA. I hope they're just a small outfit, and not some BP subsidiary.

Judging from what I hear on forums, I think it's fairly accurate about the 17c mark, ie that vaping is about a fifth the cost of smoking. It's rudimentary but people get the picture.

Finally some positive press about vaping in Australia :)

I've noticed that the press in Australia has traditionally been fairly biased against vaping but I was pleasantly surprised today when I read the article which actually said that it was a good substitute for smoking and a great way to give up. It gave the opinion from a doctor that it is a healthier alternative for smokers and that it is giving up smoking the easy way. Something which has been the dominant point of view from this forum for a long time- so good to finally see something positive in the press.
It also brought up the hurdle of getting nicotine for Australian vapers, it would make things so much easier if we could buy and sell nicotine locally! But they would probably put some crazy tax on it...
