So basically this means what? Things just carry on as normal or will importing get harder?

"Current government policy supports the cessation of smoking rather than harm reduction."

And therein lies the key argument ... our govt wants you to quit or die( and pay taxes until you do ) ... no quarter shall be given nor offered .... they say it is tobacco and therefore it is ... we are probably lucky they didnt say potato chips are tobaccco because they are actually the same family of plants and have more of a direct correlation than ecigs to tobacco ... next Smiths crisps will be added to the quit or die agenda !!!

Nothing changes at this point.. though as it says.. some places don't label as nicotine.. so it can still be procured easily enough

Sad part is the low number of submissions received by retailers and consumers.

Keep the morbidity rate down by keeping the the mortality rate up. The health system can't afford aging smokers.

Seems fine to me. Federal permit importation and leave it to the States to enforce their own laws, the States do nothing to enforce their own laws, business as usual.

The Australian Government support "harm reduction".

It is one of the "three pillars" :

"The overarching approach of harm minimisation, which has guided the National Drug Strategy since its inception in 1985, will continue through 20102015. This encompasses the three pillars of: demand reduction to prevent the uptake and/or delay the onset of use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs; reduce the misuse of alcohol and the use of tobacco and other drugs in the community; and support people to recover from dependence and reintegrate with the community supply reduction to prevent, stop, disrupt or otherwise reduce the production and supply of illegal drugs; and control, manage and/or regulate the availability of legal drugs harm reduction to reduce the adverse health, social and economic consequences of the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.

The TGA has outright lied to support its draconian position, I expect some politicians will be upset by their statement.

I'm only new to these pages and vaping but had no idea I could have made a submission, I only heard about it around a month ago and if I knew I could have organised at least 6 submissions.
