Bloody hell! I find this truly bizarre. Working for Bunnings, we have rules up to our armpits about how to store, merchandise and treat hazardous chemicals (which are all "industrial") - and all hardware (plus similar) stores would have the same issues.

Those rules are there for very good reasons - mainly to do with safety - right, got it, LNP/NP not terribly keen on the notion of safety. Without being boring about the details, large hardware stores contain enougn hazardous stuff to blow up an entire neighbourhood if a fire occurs AND the stuff is not stored correctly. We are subjected to inspections and large fines if we're not complying - and quite rightly so, it's a serious responsibility to protect our local community.

WRT Nicotine, I don't think a loophole exists, and given the possible collateral damage, I wouldn't want these laws changed, sorry

So I am wondering if this goes through - and since nicotine can also be used for industrial purposes on farms- could this become a loophole of sorts for vaping as well if it or similar passed parliment?

(Its my bed time and my thinking is not really working atm ... )

Without knowing too much about it atm - I am inclined mostly to agree with you on this one -

But on the slim chance it does go through - I still wonder about the implications of nicotine for industrial purposes- especially since people have nicotine flagged for quit smoking purposes rather than industrial purposes - so would be interesting to know more

Its also interesting to me what 'they' do and dont want to regulate in recent times and why - but thats another story for another night

    Not Blowing Smoke, Vaping Works

There is zero doubt that the harms associated with smoking are considerable. Thanks to public health efforts, smoking cigarettes is recognized as one of the biggest contributors to death and disability globally. This is why when tools become available to reduce or eliminate cigarette use we should embrace it versus shooting it down with false fears.
