Godwins law - and the avoidance or mockery of it - bit like the words conspiracy theory or eugenics or social engineering - words to be avoided - You know sometimes fab I get on line and and answer some articles in a smart arse way - advocating for forced sterilization of welfare recipients, putting symbols on people who are on welfare so we can dob them in better and other things - it worries me that rather than coming across as smart arsey - my bs BS diatribe actually fits in with the mood - and aligns with history potentially repeating

So am not adverse to bringing up the subject - it needs to be

as to the rest it goes back to foucaults dialogues - its harder to prove human rights in many ways bc you have to slot it into the various headings that human rights covers - it would be much easier and simpler to start with civil rights - I think the subject would get more support and coverage from the general public (who already seem to be turning on anti smoking laws slowly) as well that way as well as wider coverage

Ethics well thats debatable- tobacco control would strongly argue that their stance and deprivation of peoples liberty and basic human rights is ethical for the greater good and future generations-so there fore not unethical - whereas harm reduction in smoking also relies somewhat on supporting the tobacco industry - it is where most of our nicotine comes from and it is how snus is made

Human rights apparatus is also very expensive and almost impossible to access -

but as I said it was just a brain burp - but interesting as a question I guess

To put it into context, the death rate worldwide taken on average for this century (A Billion Lives, the WHO's own figures) is six TIMES the death rate in the concentration camps in Europe between the years 1940 to '45. If that isn't a human rights issue I don't know what is. It's unethical treatment of human beings, most of whom would probably welcome safer alternatives to smoking tobacco if only they were given a free choice. Ethical legislation would not be supporting the tobacco industry.

They should invite Clive to talk at OTC on Wednesday. Perfect timing (or maybe perfect planning?)
    2017 OTCC Conference

    They won't though.

How do you get him to do a presentation at the National Press Club? That'd be rather good too.
I have just sent an email to the NPC about that very discussion.

It's invite only, and they tend to go for entertainment value. I agree it would be nice to see him there though.

ACA episode about vaping has been postponed.

I'll have to keep my eye out for it.

Perhaps they are re-editing for a change of stance? One can only hope.
