I find this notion of “iPhones” slowing a little strange. I have an iPhone 5 running IOS 11.2 and it’s just as speedy as ever.

Let’s imagine, that the “slowing” process was actually about extending battery life, of batteries that were becoming sub optimal - well I wouldn’t be complaining. I would complain, as a customer, if the process hadn’t been explained to me. But, if it meant that my underperforming battery (due to age) would suddenly shut down when running IOS 11, then I’d prefer it to run slower, and give me time to sort it.

As to “geo locked/blocked - this iPhone I bought from Vodafone, it’s not locked/blocked in any way. My previous iPhone I bought from Apple Australia - not locked/blocked in anyway.

Why do people still buy Apple? I buy Apple because it works - but then I’m no longer a techno, geek weenie - or what ever you want to call yourself. I also have had zero problems with the famous AVF spam, bots and sexualised pop-ups

TLDR: Slowing iPhones - meh - First World Problem.

I think the Geolocked comment refers to the "discounts" likely only being available to iPhone owners in certain countries, instead of all customers affected by the iPhone battery issues worldwide.

And ditto with the prices - they do charge more for products and software in Australia (and other places outside the US) - more than just a direct currency conversion of their US prices - and they actively block people from outside the US buying from their US store at US prices.

Eh, I don't know - underclocking as to not tax a knackered battery sounds a-ok to me (given the consequences of a tightly packed LiPo going wrong and all that) - however the fact that the userbase wasn't told about it, and the battery isn't easily replaceable is something legitimate to be miffed about. Not that that's uniquely an Apple problem though - I can't name one flagship smartphone off the top of my head that has a user replaceable battery.

It's an absolutely disgusting state of affairs (both economically, and for the environment) - but phones are designed to be disposable. They're designed to have a lifespan of 2 years (for obvious reasons) - any more than that and you've gotten lucky.
    These things.

    I have some things.
    I vape them.

WOndering as I am doing stuff -

I seem to have lost a lot of links to the internet and its natural hiding and killing off of things bc of time and other reasons

Does anyone perchance know of a good alternative to the wayback machine so that I can revive info from dead - if possible would also like to revive the occasional PDF file link as well

Im just getting sick of getting the 404 message and the wayback machine being so dammed hit and miss

Any and all help would be appreciated ahead of time
