Most e-cigarette companies are owned by Big Tobacco

    https://www.theguardian.com/society/...oxic-chemicals
Dr Becky Freeman, a tobacco control researcher with the University of Sydney’s school of public health, said some consumers thought e-cigarette companies were “small artisan companies interested in improving health” when in fact most were owned by big tobacco.
    I had no idea.

They are getting a lot of mileage out of the ACCC making an example of those three "tobacco companies" aren't they?

It's all just so wrong it does my head in.

I think what they do, is they look at the market penetration of their *pineapple*-y cigalikes in the US and I presume Europe and justify that as "most companies". It's still so wrong. We don't even have those products in Australia becuase... nicotine.

To be labeled a Tobacco Company these days must constitute libel/slander/defamation of some kind.

This happens a lot in the US with Stan Glantz and Tobacco Free Kids.

I don't understand why these companies, along with ecig vendors that sell their products, don't sue these people.

I'd like to see what research data they used betting it's the data from when they used the devices to excess, causing dry hit doing it in 1 continuous pull also over heating the entire device not allowing for the coils to rewick in a manner that none would ever consider vapeable.

Lets be honest tobacco companies have such a bad reputation that anything you can label as coming from them MUST be bad. It doesnt matter if its true just the label is enough for the general public.

Here is an idea lets label all politicians as coming from tobacco companies.

The sad thing is these people are highly educated and highly paid, using tax payers money for this "research".
