Another good reason why BT should stay well away from vaping interviews and vaping in general.
I just watched it now, because I recorded it. He (Patrick Muttard) was an an absolute idiot who couldn't even counter the formaldehyde lies. Yep, sack his ass back to 'merica. He was listed as "Corporate Affairs Director" or something.

Neither of the PMI guys at the hearing were him. They sent Mark Powell (Manager of Public Policy) and Maurice Smith (Scientific Affairs) to the hearing.

Not far in this made me already want to stab someone:

Prof. Thompson: There are numerous studies demonstrating significant dual use, and this committee has heard that the majority of e-cigarette users are smokers

Fudge me, what a load of old cobblers....

He then goes on to the "think about the chilluns" standby diatribe...evil gummy bear flavours etc proof that its targetted at children...

    Then this:

CHAIR: The converse is to say that e-cigarettes will save lives that otherwise would be lost because of cigarettes.

Prof. Thompson: Absolutely, but they're going to be harmed and crippled with respiratory conditions, sitting on oxygen and in beds all the time.

Excuse me everyone, i have to get back on the oxygen...from the atmosphere, like a regular person

Yes but we expect that BS from the "health" professionals - I was more grumpy about the statements from "our" camp - huge disappointment
In particular I refer to the comments from Avatar regarding Diy - not cool

Unfortunately in "advocacy" there is also the adage of " Follow the Money " that they would like you to ignore ..... shock horror that a vendors assosciation would throw a proportion of " customers...( or non customers in reality)" under the bus to try and swing things in favour of the retailers

    ( I feel a bit Nostradamus-y in that I predicted it lol )

Anti-Vapers keep drilling the same 3 arguments; Dual-Use, Re-normalisation and Gateway.

The problem is that no one in the provaping side knows how to answer the questions properly.

It's a shame, because there's only one answer to all three arguments.

If one looks at the pics of the blokes on the left of above post, they all seem to need something to do with their hands whilst in public.
"May" gets a good run in the quotations. For the people professing to be experts such vague responses not backed up with hard evidence is no valid determination of the fact. Pseudo catchphrases for poly unenlightened audiences. I have met plenty of educated 'specialists' that use the 'Do as I say' technique. Like some mission statements where they are words on a poster on a wall and that's as close as they get to being enacted.

More often than not, "May" is a codeword for "This statement is complete BS, but I am covering my behind while knowingly talking out of it. Please don't fire me.".

    I thought everyone knew that?

That is pretty piss poor. Most of them wouldn't have a business if it wasn't for the DIY community.
