If you can endure going down the comments in the FB page, there is a link to an article in the Spectator regarding the inquiry..the author takes a few whacks at Chapman, here and there... here's a sample.

"he current House of Representatives inquiry into the legalisation of personal vaporisers should be welcomed and not criticised, as tedious, tendentious public health fascist Simon Chapman whinged in the Sydney Morning Herald yet again last week."

    Fascist is a fair description.

Some time ago apparently Chapman supported the Health nutters in WA to get the Opera Carmen banned from performing there because it's set in a cigarette factory.

More nutso than Chapman you cant get.

I'm not sure if you follow Twitter. That image was something that SC put up himself (minus the words). That left him open to it being used against him. He has no-one to blame but himself. He's become quite an abusive individual. Don't be a vaper or an opponent of wind farms for health reasons - his responses have become quite malicious.

He also blocks people and, if they don't block him back, he then "unblocks" so he can have a snipe. Not very professional behaviour, he deserves everything that gets thrown at him.

when did personal vendettas and online bullying advance the cause of vapers wanting vaping to be recognized as a legitimate tobacco harm reduction option.

Sure, one high profile vocal person disagrees with vaping, and sees vaping as another way big tobacco is trying to carve out a profitable niche.. in part what he says is true.. and in another part it is incorrect. Seeking to demonize people who do not see the world as you do - often reflects badly on both sides of the argument.

The old sayings - 'Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.' and - "I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it." have probably never been more true.

Editorial in the SMH this morning warns against legalising vaping. For one reason. That BT is pushing for it.
Talk about missing the point. Vapas were doin' it for themselves long before BT/BP got in on the act.
    Fuckemall.

The lazy lying media doing it again.
Presenting something as an editorial when it's actually just an opinion piece.
Media are to blame for a lot of the problems, they specialise in spreading misinformation. If they ever bothered to do their research I might have some respect for them.

Isn't an editorial just an opinion piece from the editor?

Chappy has made it clear in the past that it is all about him and his ego rather than actually trying to improve public health.

I see his comments as a last ditch effort from someone who is clearly not quite right upstairs trying desperately to maintain some relevance and credibility in a narrative that has moved past him and dismissed him for what he is, a lying meddling sociopath hell bent on pushing some antiquated view of anti-smoking utopia on the world. Abstinence Uber Alles.
