    Recommendation 1
2.57 The committee recommends that the Senate does not pass the Bill until further scientific evaluation of the efficacy and safety of e-cigarettes and related products has been undertaken.

Yeh, tbh, I don't trust any major parties to not tax the crap out of this and try and control what nic dose adults choose for themselves. In a way I dread it being legalised. But also on other hand if it isn't they'll just eventually stop it being imported, they can't help themselves.

About to have a read of it. I guess it is to be expected and I also suspect the other inquiry will go the same way. I just hope that this does not start a push to ban them further, like shut down all vape shops, ban imports of anything and so on. Seems the lies pushed by Health bodies have won through.

    I'm so sad right now.

That's the only recommendation. I lost interest in reading the rest of it, which I presume is their Simon Trump version of the reasoning behind continuing the prohibition. They are a narrow minded bunch of old farts who will be responsible for many tobacco deaths over the next few years.

They should be held accountable for that.

... and here's Colin Mendelsohn's response to the Inquiry recommendations.

Dr Colin Mendelsohn - Tobacco Treatment Specialist :: Senate Inquiry rejects legislation to legalise nicotine for vaping

Colin is a lot more polite than I would have been, on an issue that costs 15,000 lives in Australia every year.

    Doesnt surprise me.
Of course thats what they want,a delaying tactic- now they can fund endless "studies" and go on reinventing the wheel for as long as they like....endlessly, boringly, repeating studies that have been conducted overseas.
    Good little earner for researchers.

Interesting too that vaping/ nicotine in Australia has recently gone quiet in the wider media too...?
