Should AVF Remove the Political Sub-Forum

I'm interested in what kind of environment Aussievapers were to become if we deleted the Political/Media subforum.

    What are your thoughts?

    Yes, or No?

I am only a newbie here but a lurker for a while before that. Politics will always bring out passion and dummy spits (heated arguements). That being said however I am old enough to know that sometimes I may disagree in the moment with a stated opinion, however upon reflection it does help me to refine my own thoughts.

Also by removing it's own area it would just be inviting it to enter random threads posted elsewhere on the board. I would rather read an articulated discussion in one place then see it flame in other places and try to make sense of it.

The most articulated responses in any political argument on this forum are often by those informing everyone that AVF is not a ecig political hub, but more for a place for people to share their interests on vaping in and of itself (devices/ejuice/mixing/coil building, Mod Making etc), and for helping new comers.

Mods can always delete political posts in other sub forums, and ban members that persist in this activity.

I agree which is why I signed up here. However and this is where I am a little bit torn. When we start censoring what is said then don't we go from being an open community to a forum where things are hinted at in the shadows? So it's almost a case of necessary evil. People do need an outlet and here is a forum that has provided a place for that to happen.

To be honest if anything make it a private forum that reg users can't see unless they have posted for privs to see the area, but removing it entirely would be a mistake.

As the laws are made by politicians sadly, this is a prime location for the interested vapers on the laws concerning vaping related topics as can be found throughout AVF. Spamming posts and vitriol on the other hand, bye!

There are plenty other forums people can go to for political discussions.

I'd like to see AVF in its pure form as a vaping interest forum.

I think removing the political subforum is a bit OTT.

We don't have mega drama anymore as yes, we're not a political hub. But what's wrong with the odd bit of biff (aka debate)? As long as it doesn't carry over across all the forum, then just ignore it if it's not your thing.

I don't think AVF is the right forum for trying to create a political movement etc, but there's nothing wrong with having a place for a bit of information and discussion.

And on a purely practical note - the mods don't have access to do that sort of stuff and Jato is MIA.

It already is, vaping interest includes politics sadly.

AVF political content tends to be choppy and chaotic but its rarely sugar coated or spun into fanciful tales.
We dump the raw info, fight about it but in the end its up to the reader to make up their own minds.

love it or hate it that's AVF in a nutshell
