Careful lynne about your filthy words - You will be called a liar, called mentally ill, accused of having an axe to grind, have people accuse you of not vaping, have a pitchfork party after you, be shut down, blocked and blocked out and more cause them there is fighting words! -_-

Doc all I got for you is Hallelujah, praise the lord and pass the ammunition cause absolute power corrupts absolutely!

(Sadly cause those questions have not been answered or asked - its turned into a bit of a civil war hasnt it? With noone knowing quite who the enemy actually is... Cause might is right etc etc etc ....which oddly enough has made tobacco harm reductionists overall easy targets and prey by ANTZ , outsiders and vested interests.... )

“But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.”

That's precisely what I mean, No one is batting or ball tampering for we vapers that are vapers. Not just in it for the road trip and political CV filling, Mumsie and Daddy getting shot of us out of the mansion for a bit and the photo opportunity.
Dr. Danko materialises if there's camera present or a script to be sold for another upsell to Buckofarm. No jolly (used instead of 'fucking' as not to offend anyone) substance nor proactivity. That's where LVA are going well.
Libs, Chanel #5, Labs, Brut, Dems, free stuff out of the motel bathroom, Greens, pure, natural body odour with a hint of mariajuanita and a forest in the armpits. One nation, burger grease, The Nats, sheepshit & WD40, ACL, Holy water, vaseline and Sacrimental vino, Sex party, just no.......Hunters shooters and fishers, 2 stroke, fish attractant and gunpowder.

    But I digress.
It is overdue that the infighting on this subject is turned into a positive approach and a focus on what outcomes we vapers want to be made. Opinions and debate are what is sifting the lumps out of our own custard.
Or we could just moan " Nothing is what I want, no-one is on my level of thinking, I'll just take my hands off the wheel and beeeatch like crazy when vaping ends up in another ditch."
Vapers need to take the fight up to the people that have some clout and make the case with logical, positive and irrefutable evidence. The benefits are self evident in the health aspects of vaping, smokers have been made socially unacceptable through time, determination and campaign $$$. I was one of the millions that thought on Budget night, "Shit! The price of fags are fucking killing me". I had no insight and I reeked of cigarettes too, while wondering how the feck am I going to pay bills & register my car/bike/dog/licenses. I have seen dah light mah brothers & mah sisters. Praise be mayonnaise!!!!!! I'll see you all in Whyalla....er...Valhalla....Vanilla....somewhere thereabouts.

Luvs ya Doc - but its not gonna happen unless the NNA get their fingers out of their omg I am so right asses and make some concessions and start listening and asking questions of their whole community (and no half arsedly asking how much nic do you vape so we can make recommendations but not tell you we are board members does not cut it) -

They also need to involve the whole community in decision making processes - like the direction of vaping in Australia

Most are not bad people but they are chickensh*t of their own community and will only post in places that they are safe and not answerable to criticism or questions -

Thought many times about lynnes thing about a new gen taking over - but the fact of the matter is that the clueless (regardless of how nice or not individuals involved are) have set us on an accidental crash course which may very well hurt vapers and smokers more than help them - including the huge potential for medicalization or otherwise expensive and limited monopolization

Its the only medical doctors, 36mg without DIY and little lip service to snus, not challenging current anti smoking narratives and the TGA thing that vaping in Australia advocacy (lobbying) (thanks to them) is spinning around- and until the NNA change tact - any new group will be stuck inadvertently supporting it

ATM until they change- open themselves up, start properly learning about how to manage diversity, involve the whole community in decision making, push away from medical TGA and only doctor experts - all there is I think for the moment is to keep quietly stocking up and keep protesting them hoping they start taking things on board

Unless you got some other idea?

ATM until the NNA are a small group of about 4 people, who without change are in large part holding all of vaping (and snus) advocay in Australia to ransom

Vaping in Australia and its advocacy- thanks to them is out of the average persons hands and may well be lost to over cautious expensive and monopolized regulation

Its little wonder with the way the NNA have handled things over time that most vapers - even ones that have been previously zealous about advocacy - have over time lost interest in Aussie vape advocacy

Advocacy by the average person? Nah thats been discouraged by them over time - dont worry about it - fill in this thing and the medical vaping experts will take care of it pronto

Now reb, often it can be a good idea to look back to see what the used to be .. and then it places things in a sort of context..

doom and gloom is never my flavour of the month, I have always had a little spark of optimism, that has sparkled brightly or dimly, but sparkles it does !

what about the fact that things HAVE changed - would you have believed 12 months ago that:

a van with Legalise Vaping would drive around east coast Aus highlighting Australia's nutty stance on vaping,

    or that

Liberal Democrats Senator David Leyonhjelm has told Sky News that a group of Senate crossbenchers will block legislation Health Minister Greg Hunt is responsible for until the government reverses the ban on nicotine e-cigarettes.
would threaten to block all legislation until Nicotine in Vaping was legalised,
or that.. now taking a deep breath, that someone like Eric Abetz would issue a press release stating

“This latest paper just reinforces the clear international experience of e-cigarettes has been positive, with Public Health England finding that they are 95% less harmful than cigarettes.”

“While the recent House of Representatives report was disappointing, I was pleased to see a number of my colleagues dissent in that report.”

“I am hopeful that the Government will be open to bringing about some change on this important issue,” Senator Abetz concluded.
so things have changed.. are they perfect ? nah

is this a result of altrusism? nahhhhhh

will this help people stop smoking .. maybe it will and maybe that is important !

will some existing vapers be disadvantaged - probably not !

personally I reckon more people have had more conversations about stopping smoking and starting vaping, with their doctors, specialists, local councillors, politicians etc - on twitter and prob on farcebook so I think you might be a little bit incorrect .. people are already walking around !

Vapers in Australia come in all shapes and forms - and sure - stock up on supplies - but as always, the world keeps on turning and changes evolve !

    **sparkle sparkle

From the way I see it, NNA are a 'glass half empty', no vision or interaction outfit, the only action on their website is done by the same bloke doing all the footwork, the last blog post was 1st December '17, ffs.... the committee in that joint in Canberra has drivelled since then. Nothing....... they don't really deserve the electricity to keep their phones charged. There are things other than social media to get a point across and communicate. No bloody wonder we have a pandemic of obese pigeons and a mail system in reverse! Now who doesn't like getting something in the letterbox aside from bills and how to vote cards? There's enough fonts in use today to string together an action plan and requests for others POV to get to an actual mission statement. NNA. Dogpaddling in quicksand it seems.
If that's the best that they have got, Gourd help us vapers.........
LVA are at least having a crack. May not agree wholeheartedly with what they are peddling, but if they have a decent structure of operation, that is open to change with input.

When the legalise vaping people first kicked off I contacted them to correct them on some of the facts they were inventing, also offered up some insights.

I got no reply other than to be added to an email sequence pestering me for donations.

It was then I twigged that they were probably playing a different kind of game.

I'm actually more inclined to take Dr Danko at face value given what I read on hansard in the parliamentary enquiry. It is just a shame his organisation can't communicate more effectively.

Shooters and fishers party. Will never support them after what they did to the NSWPF death & disability. Back stabbers.
