eGo Twist and Vision spinner questions

Just a couple of questions I thought I would throw out there before proceeding further.

Has anybody ever pulled one of the Twists or Spinners to pieces?? I am contemplating using the circuits in a pipe, as I think they would be small enough to fit, and It would be a cheap way to get a variable voltage set up for the pipe.

I have never owned one of these things, so any thoughts or pointers to any links to dissemble. Prime question is where the voltage boost occurs? Is it the twisty end or the switch end via a rheostat in the twisty end??? Early days yet!!!

Robray, I've got a non-working Joytech 1000mah Twist that I'm happy to send you for research

On the twists I know its very easy. You pull/wiggle the metal 510 connector and it slides out. I use pliers.

Sounds like a cool project Robray!

I think epipemods did a vv pipe using a twist?

Edit: Just remembered it was an eGo Booster Epipemids used as reviewed here by Scott:

Thanks for the info people. Looking at the image the board is not as I imagined it, and certainly too big for my pipe project. It looks like it may be the go for the basis of a box mod though?? On the back burner for now. Come to a stop on my claw pipe project as I have to bite the bullet and drill a hole in the pipe bowl. I have a couple of options, but if it goes wrong the job is screwed!!! Some more thought needed!!

Thanks for the offer tetsky, Needs some more thought before I commit.

I guess I should have watched the video before jumping to the conclusion that the long circuit board in the image, was the boost board for the twist. Its not!!! It looks like the little switch board has the boost on board, so should be easy to fit in the pipe. Has anybody had the end off?? If so what is there. Hopefully its just a variable resistor??
