Vivi Nova & Hot Legs (Burning plastic) help

I'm starting to go a little crazy here...

Every single replaceable head i purchased is causing me grief. Whats happening is the 'hot legs' or 'hot tails' issue where the wire that leads up to the coil is heating up and burning the lower plastic grommet in the vivi head. This gives off a foul burning plastic taste.

I started rebuilding last night, and for a little while i had one working great but then it started burning again.

It's extremely frustrating that an out of the box device does not work as intended. Any tips or ideas before i start breaking things?

RE: Vivi Nova Hot Spot on Tail Wire

If the tails are glowing then this means shorted turns. They can short underneath the wick without you seeing them. This happens a lot if the wick is bowed slightly. Pull it out and have a look. Thats my advice.

You're describing the main reason I stopped using the vivi. Every replacement head did the same thing, glowing tails, horrendous taste.

I'll try them again in a few months and see if they've fixed it with QA.

    Its extremely frustrating.

I just want something simple, tastes good, reliable, easy to fill and will last a day.
