Try some thicker guage kanthal Bully, 32g is too thin imo. Thicker will allow you to keep the ohms down (to heat the wick quickly) and also you can put a coil or two more on their to release more vapour. 28g is the best I find. Also, make sure your coils are nice and tight. If you manage not to break your wick it will last forever.

5 wraps of 28g will give you about 1.2ohm, what im using.. A little tip, torch the wire before wrapping, will get a tighter wrap

Just get em from vapeking. You only need a few spares aside from your setups, as they don't need changing. Once they are in they are in.

Yes I have one setup on .5 Ribbon in my DID. Works very very well, its my best ceramic setup. However I hot wrapped it, which for ribbon I think is a must or at least offers the best results for ribbon. Hot wrapping will allow a nice tight wrap with less force on the ceramic as the heat from a torch does the work for you.

I have worked out the technique so that I put most of the heat into the Ceramic and not the kanthal, the heat transfers to the kanthal anyway, it just makes breaking the kanthal on wrapping a little less likely. That way I was able to hold the wick in my hands and wrap.

Here is my top secret tip, when you pre anneal a piece of kanthal do the whole length. Then pre wrap without heat 3-5 turns with the wick out of the atty to the point your first coil from the neg post will be, then torch wrap the coil you are going to use on to the wick, those pre wraps will allow easier handling of the wick a spread the slight pulling force on the wick over a broader area. I even hot wrap a couple of extra's or one at the wick top to ensure tight fit until the break off to the pos post.

Now when you go to set the wick in the atty, you can unwind the pre-coil to your desired amount of wraps, the wraps will stay tight to the wick, put the wick in tension down neg and pos posts being careful to not wind the coil with the screws (a small washer if it allows thread bite will stop this, two is even better) with Ribbon flatten with pliers or align flat your choice, and vape on.....
