Modding Reo Grand into an LP

Hey guys, I've had a look around the interwebs to see if this were possible and from my take of things doing this is as simple as just reducing the height of the catch cup?

The reason I want to butcher a grand is because I just recently got the era afc top cap expecting it would fit (I know I should have researched first). Pretty much, do you guys think its worth it to sand/file it down just so I can use dual coils?

Thanks for reading, also if anyone could post some pictures comparing the Grand and Lp together so I can compare the height of the catch cups as well as the inner diameter it would be very helpful, as I can gauge the amount to sand off or if need be, Dremel the ID.

that's it - file or grind the cup down.

leave maybe 1mm of the circle cup in place. job done.

inner cup is same dia on both, its just the wall height is different

Pack the 510 connector full of cotton wool or something so it doesnt fill with filings. Or better still, strip it down first.

Thanks dicko, Yup, stripped down everything except the 510, stick taped the 510, hole for the button and the top of the door (shavings on magnets can be a *****). I'll let you guys know how I go, only have a file so it's going to take all night :P.

All sorted. Think I coulda filed down a bit more but it's working fine atm with the era afc. Can't wait to see how a 22mm atty will go. Sure chucks more vapour and it's a lot warmer and dense, I rekn the flavour will be better than a single coil once i work out how to angle the coils so that all three holes get utilized on the afc.

Haha sorry for butchering your baby Michael-Mikey-Mike
    Thanks for the advice fellas.

GJ Man. looking at my proper LP and your pic, you may have another half mm to play with there if you get juice seepage from under the atty with a 22mm, file a little more and then use an o-ring in the cup. if you need one I have bags of them here, can post one out.

Cheers for the offer venga, but no worries i'm all sorted on the orings. I rekn it will definitely need more filing down the road when I pick up a 22m bf, looking at my zenith (clone) but I think i'll just butcher it. hmmm maybe the steamers may be able to do it, i'll ask em next time I pop in.
