    The Crisscross Mod

I am going to use this thread to document the making of my new mod. While Mr XX is the genius behind the woodwork I am the designer and will be putting it together. My inspiration comes from all the beautiful squonk boxes that are now coming out. This is not a squonk box but takes the look that I love and adds them to something I want to use. The first one will be powered by a single 18500 battery and kicked with a sigelei kick.

Inserted pic of completed mods - the thread is a bit long to read.

Crisscross 002 stabilised olive unregulated single 18650mah battery box mod (front left)

The wood chosen for my mods. I haven't decided on which one will be the ultimate as a lot will depend on how it looks polished

I will update as I go along.

We went to the actual workshop and there were hundreds to choose from. It was like a lolly shop. This will be the first effort using stabilised wood so it might take a bit of careful getting used to.

That was always my issue. I loved the look but not the method plus I wanted to kick a wood box. We will see how it pans out. Fingers crossed. I always knew those tubes would come in handy.

This going to be very cool. I am really interested to see how this pans out as it has a lot of things that I have been thinking of doing but out of aluminium.

It's actually easier out of metal, you don't have seem to have the same issues of battery connection that straight wood has.
I want it to be without wires and soldering which is why I will use a kick and a tube. It had to be small enough for me to hold (tiny hands) and by using the cutout for my handhold it becomes manageable. Until I finalise the fire button (top or front side) I don't know how tall it will be and the cutouts position may change to where it is most comfortable in my hand.
