    First successful coil build

Couldn't find #coilporn topic here, so...

Here's my first staggered fused clapton. Not the cleanest possible build, obviously - mistakes made and lessons learned.

28GA Nichrome80 cores, staggered and fused with 30GA Kanthal A1. Double-coiled 2.5mm / 6 loops setup clocked at .24 Ohms. One thing I noticed is that these thirsty coils sizzle e-juice like crazy at 80W. It produces so much vape I had to dilute the juice from 3mg/ml nic down to around 2.3-ish, otherwise it was too much to handle.

    Very happy with this build.

Sweet build, did you use swivels or build free hand?

Top quality fishing swivels from K-Mart, they are so good I actually had to feed them some graphite powder otherwise they wouldn't turn under minimal tension.

Same here, I bought the highest strength ones (58 pounds) from kmart and soaked them all in lithium grease. They can easily handle my drill on full speed now. Have you tried making alien claptons? I made a pair yesterday and they're amazing

Yeah, sort of - as I was trying different things one of my claptons got decored (don't ask), so I decided to go with it. I probably forgot to switch the drill rotation so alien part did not work at all

That's happened to me on more then one occasion, I suck at single core claptons because they're always loose but perfect for alien builds though👌
