    Reverse steeping?

Two weeks on the e-cigs as of today, haven't had a cigarette since day one, all is goingwell, BUT...

Tell me if this is in my head or something others have noticed. I'm getting my head around the concept of steeping and have noticed a rapid maturing in the taste of a couple of the Mt Baker juices I bought already. The Honey Wood Tobacco, in particular, started out as something I could take or leave but now seems to be maturing beautifully by the day. The Havana has turned into something a little harsh for my liking and ther Kahlua hasn't changed at all.

The odd one is the Cafe Coffee. It seems to be losing its flavour to the point of going from my favourite flavour to something very bland.

This seems counter-intuitive to everything I have heard about steeping. Especially since two weeks off the cigs should be making my taste buds more receptive to flavour, not less.

Am I imagining things, or is this something that happens? If it matters, all the above juices are 18mg and 80/20 PG-VG mix.

I find that as my taste buds are recovering from the years of abuse from smoking, the juices I like are changing, too. it's hard to know whether i'm not liking or liking something more because of the juice or because of my newly awakening taste buds.

This happened to me with vapecobra's choc mint juice. The time I tried it in my first couple of weeks I loved it, and then it was just very bland and the flavors didn't seem to go together well at all. I was never sure why.

with the mint slice magic from vapebar, I found the mint comes through more strongly over time. I find it completely overwhelming now and don't like it at all. I totally loved it when I first tried it.

I found the opposite. For me the mint was horribly overwhelming at the beginning with no sign of any chocolate/biscuit, but now (6 weeks later), it has very little taste at all. Isn't it strange.

    SUCCESS!!!

I noticed I wasn't hearing that burning, bubbling sound when I hit the button, so thought the culprit might be viscosity. Cafe Coffee is a very dark, thick juice so I cut it down with an equal part tobacco flavour and a bit of vanilla and voila. Getting more coffee taste with only half the juice.

Now if only they'd put real caffeine in it, I'd be set.

Something to take in to account is a thing i call "flavor fade" is when you have a juice that you really like and stick to it for days and it ends up tasting like nothing, so try in have more than one flavor on the go to avoid this.

This happens to me in a matter of hours, every damn night! I switch juice, have a drink of water and then all is well.

Odd isnt it how we become desensitized to things.

The state of your gear will exaggerate some flavours in the right or wrong direction and by the description of your juices and what I would imagine they may taste like as gear gets older or clogged its sounds like some of the issue as well.

I now only do the darker chocolately/coffee stuff on SS mesh as they quickly clog silica/ecowool and start tasting muted.

I now have pretty much everything I could want, next step is making my own mods and juices, watch this space er cadet....

This is why I have at least 3 different flavors in my rotation at all times, usually more. I have 2 flavors I DiY, which are my favorites & I sometimes over do them to the point where they lose taste, so I then switch to a different juice & sometimes even a week later those "favorites" still lose their taste very quickly.
Vaping the same flavor day in day out for a week, you will lose taste in most cases but give it a week or more & the flavor will come back.
