    Device maintenance

Just a short tale to remind fellow newbies of the importance of maintaining your equipment.

I had a brief moment of panic when one of my Ego batteries was failing, but a quick wipe over with a q-tip soaked in alcohol on the terminals of my batteries and charger brought them back to life. I've had only two batteries in rotation for the last 6 weeks so they were pretty grimy.

I regularly clean my clearomisers, but hadn't paid any attention to my batteries before.

Normal procedure for ego batteries and their chargers. Clean weekly or more often if possible.

Isopropyl cleaning alcohol is best. Available from bunnings.

Great tip! How often should the clearo's be cleaned? And how often should the coil be replaced?

Because of just about every carto and clearo I have (with the exceptional exception of the JustFog) has leaked juice into the contact well, mine get a wipe out before every charge.
