    Taste and smell!!!

    This is driving me crazy!!
I'm guessing its to do with giving up the stinkies, I'm 6 weeks in.

I get tiny whiffs of odor too weak to identify or locate. Its infuriating. And noone else can smell them!!
And things I used to like just don't taste right, just subtle stuff, nothing definable.

Anyone else get this, or is it just my mind playing tricks?

    lol

it's what shit ACTUALLY smells and tastes like you're experiencing...it'll happen when your senses return from cancer stick vacation...

    possibly sinus/nasal/tastebud regeneration?

Nah, your mind is fine, I had the same experience, and still am to a certain extent, maybe I'm just getting used to my new normal.

My sense of smell is sooooo much better now, and while that is a good thing in terms of being able to smell the nice subtle scents I missed while smoking, it has also meant that I'm much more sensitive to the bad smells as well.

As for taste, I am finding that some tastes I like less now, really strong or sweet tastes don't have so much appeal anymore, so I've had to cut down on the amount of spices, chilies and garlic I cook with, and have cut down the sugar in my coffee and tea.

lol it made me wonder how non-smokers used to be able to eat my curries and stir fry's, they were so chockas with chillie .

lol, I was like some sort of weird blood hound going around trying to find out where the smell was coming from. I discovered that my SOs farts really do stink, and the dog gets bathed a lot more frequently now, on the other hand, my roses smell wonderful, and its really easy to find that bit of rotten broccoli hiding under the vege crisper.

Starting Vaping was a wake up call for me.

I realized one shower a week, wasn't the way it should be!!

Thats the feeling, and yes every time I open the fridge .

And my vape, I'm vaping unflavoured, all the juices tasted the same to me.
It used to have no flavour, but now I've noticed it has, not exactly unpleasant but unexpected

I'm not sure whether I like supersonic smell or not. Can think of better superpowers to have.

I could actually smell cat urine the other day when I was here at the computer. Turned out a cat was in the yard, at least 20 mtrs away, and must have just went to the loo, as when I went looking for the smell I saw it scratching in the dirt out there. The smell had came in through the back screen door, and reeked. Nobody in the house could smell it, and they thought I was crazy until I spotted the cat outside.

Amazing how much you can smell. Wish my eyesight was like that, I'd be happy.

I discovered that my feet/shoes smelt bloody terrible after a full day. Normally, i wouldn't be able to smell anything other than my stale smokey stink.
