    PG/VG Ratios Questions?

Using a calculator at a popular Vaping website I worked out this mix:

    Flavor Strength = Tripler (PG100%)
    Nicotine Base = 100mg/ml(PG100)
    Target Nicotine Level = 24mg
    Amount to Create = 30ml

    Result
    Flavored Juice = 10ml
    Nicotine Base = 7.2ml
    PG or VG = 12.8ml

My questions are what ratios of PG/VG of the 12.8ml for a PG80%-VG20% mix.
I work it out to be PG = 10.24ml and VG = 2.56ml.
    Is this correct?
Does the Tripler and Nicotine Base being PG100% change PG80%-VG20% mix.

Any help, ideas would be most helpful.

if your base and flavour is 100% PG, then, yes you will need to factor this in to your calculations.

the juice calculators should permit you to input the pg/vg amounts for each ingredient and tell you exactly how much you need to hit your desire mix

because you are using a tripler - you should just add 1/3 flavour to 2/3 PG/VG nic. in your case 10ml flavour and 20ml nic/PG/VG

off the top of my head
    roughly you will need
    7ml Nic base
    7ml PG
    10 ml flavour
    6ml VG

    will give roughly 80/20

2.56ml of VG is going to give you around 7% VG in a 30ml mix.

To make it easy to figure out ratios, break the total volume down into 10ml amounts.
    So a 30ml total volume becomes 3 x 10ml amounts.
Now it is easy to work out ratios because every 1ml in a 10ml amount is 10% so if you want 20% VG in your juice , then you want 2ml.
    Now you just multiply 2ml x 3(3 lots of 10ml) = 6ml.

    Right so 6ml of VG.
    Can you elaborate further?
Like show me the steps for calculating nicotine content, PG and Flavor.
    I am still very confused.

    OK, my understanding.

You want 30ml @ 24mg/ml of nic @ 80/20 PG/VG ratio, your nic and flavour are 100% PG.

    So, 30mls @ 24mg/ml of nic is 30*24 = 720, divide by 100 (your original nic strength) = 7.2ml of nic @ 100%PG.
Your flavour is a tripler, so 30ml divided by 3 => 10 ml of flavour which is also 100%PG.

    To get an 80/20 ratio, 80% of 30ml = 24ml and therefore 20% is 6ml.

Therefore you need 6ml of VG.

You have 17.2ml of flavour + nic @ 100% PG, so you need another 6.8ml of PG to get your ratio correct.

I think this is correct *whew!*

raziel ill try and step u thru it

stick to making 10 ml like noe says - its easier to understand at your stage

so the tripler is gonna be added at 3.3 ml - ie a third of the final mix

if you want the vg to be 20% of the final mix then add 2 ml of vg

then add the remainder in pg and nic to reach 10 ml ie 4.7ml of pg

    does that make sense?

You left out that of that 4.7ml of PG, only 2.4ml should be of nic ...

totally gt - 2.4ml of nic base plus 2.3ml of straight pg = 4.7ml of pg and nic
