    $#!@ Help - battery troubles

I put my lg HG2 in my smpl clone and screwed in the button to measure distance for the 510 pin on my derringer. I messed up and pressed the button in and I think the battery touched the hybrid top cap. The mod instantly felt warm and I immediately unscrewed the button and dropped the battery out on the bed fearing venting or something.

This is the top of my battery. Have I f@#$ed it or can it be saved?

What exactly happened? Did I create a short?

If the mod immediately felt warm... as in instantly after touching, i wouldnt use that battery.
Thats just me. A 12 dollar battery is easily replaced.

Why drop it on the bed though. Venting batteries and bedsheets

I had one fritz out last night. Just bin it and get a new one. Less than the current price of half a pack of tailors, and they disappear in smoke too....

I've got a bunch on order but no B&M's near me so dunno what to do in the meantime. I might have to stick to my vtc mini caus the battery lives in there and don't want to risk ruining it till replacements come.

It was warm but cooled down quickly.

I dropped it on the bed caus i wanted it away from me quickly but didn't want to drop it on a hard surface.

Also the top of the battery appears to have a 'singe' looking burn on it. Is this a definite defect and is this battery beyond use?

Your call. I wouldn't. This is why you have backups of backups of backups.

Don't throw it in the bin though.... dispose of properly so nobody else can unknowingly get injured.

Battery World will sort you out
