    Unsure mixing

Hey just started vaping my question is I have a bottle of 100% PG Nicotine and doublers which are 50/50 PG/VG do I need to add extra VG/PG to help dilute the mixture and how much of these would I mix together to get a 24mg vape I'm quite a heavy smoker and just gave up the ciggies

What strength of nicotine do you have and how big are the doublers?

Also.... Do you have an idea of the finished ratio you want??? A higher ratio of PG is better for flavour, higher VG creates more clouds....

And.... What device are you using it on? mouth to lung vaping or big lung pulls?

Sorry for all the questions - I'm not being nosey, just need the info to help out

Ohhhh.... Well done getting off the smokes, great that you see vaping as a gateway out of smoking!

Yes you'll need to add extra PG and VG to give the final result.

If you've only got 100mg/ml nicotine and want to add only that, you'd need to buy RTV (ready to vape) liquids and add only a small amount of nicotine base.

For example, you buy a 30ml 0mg RTV from an Australian supplier, have 100mg/ml nicotine base, and want to raise the RTV to 24mg/ml:
You would add 9.5ml of 100mg/ml base to the RTV to give a final result of 24mg/ml. I'd only recommend this (level of nicotine) on devices that are designed for mouth to lung (MTL). Typically these are tighter draw (like a cigarette) and the coils are over 1 ohm. This would be for a very heavy smoker, over a pack a day.

If you want to use the doublers and add nicotine, the following formulae would be correct for the best available ratio of 62/38 PG/VG
    14.4ml nicotine base (100mg/ml, 100% PG)
    15.6ml VG
    30ml doubler at 50/50 PG/VG

This would give you 60ml of e-liquid at 24mg/ml and a pg/vg ratio of 62/38

I wrote the previous before I saw this.

If you add nicotine to the doubler at a ratio of 1:1 you will get 24mg/ml, and a pg/vg ratio of 75/25. It's vapable, but a little higher PG than most of us are using these days. The throat hit on this will be high, some would find it harsh but see how you go with it.

When I started the usual was 80/20 PG/VG, but I moved to 60/40 fairly quickly which was the highest VG I was happy with at the time.

MTL with a nauti mini, I'd STILL use 80PG20VG

Don't worry mate ~ if we were all rocket scientist we would never have started smoking in the first place

Here's how I think through a doubler mix with 48mg nicotine, minimum maths...

With your 30ml doubler you'd be mixing that up to 60ml of finished juice
That means 30ml extra liquid is what you add (nicotine/extra PG and VG)
If you put 30ml of your nicotine juice straight in then the doubler flavour would dilute the nicotine (same amount of nicotine in twice as much liquid)
If 30ml of nicotine was diluted with 30ml of flavour then the nicotine content goes from 48mg down to 24mg

So.... with your 48mg nicotine and your 30ml doubler you just add 30ml of nicotine juice

If all else fails, use an online doubler calculator... VapourEyes have a good one
