Tool/pliers to remove glass from tank

Is there a tool for removing glass from tank without breaking the glass?
I have been trying to change the glass tank to change it from 2ml to 4ml but its well stuck on the rubber o ring base of tank
I have done before by prying small screwdriver in there but broke the glass, surely there must be a easier way or a special tool for it! TIA

A rubber band wrapped around the tank or rubber gloves for gripping would be useful.

You could also try heating it up in hot water or cooling it down in the freezer to expand or contract the metal but these come with tank cracking risks.

Best to have a few spare glass tanks laying around.... Fasttech carries plenty of spares and they are cheap, cheap, cheap

As singlefished said. Those thin latex gloves, wrapped around the glass work a treat.

Use the clamping ring from a pair of those atty clamping pliers, to get good purchase on the atty base, and you should be home and hosed.

thumb inside the tank on the top or how yours comes apart and lightly push it will pop out and not shatter

well I remember well struggling with the Naut X and trying everything hot and cold, latex gloves..... until the 2ml glass did in fact break.. it seemed to be almost welded on.. once I replaced it with the 4 ml never had a problem changing glass or removing them .. just that first one.. good luck
