Hi people. Is my set up safe...I have a spectrum 230w mod with a melo 300 tank with a 0.17 ohm coil.

    In a word, no.

    I must ask though, why?

Some do do it, but if I were you I would be inclined to get a bit more vaping under your belt, to 'feel' and more importantly, understand the in's and out's of your setups, and ohms law.

I say why not... so by saying no I assume I may need higher amp batteries?

Plug your numbers into a calculator. From memory 0.17 ohms is sucking somewhere very high 20's ampswise at about 85 watts.

Ohm's law | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators

    29Amps....

Ohms says no with those batteries, theyre i think 20Amp CDR rated, and 25Amp Max on Moochs test

See here, every new vaper should memorise or refer to this: https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ape-with.7447/

    Download the chart

Dont become a battery explosion story we all post "dumbass" about

I rue the day they started selling mods with big watts numbers on them....everyone now thinks its normal to try and hit 100w+

18.97 at 90w but close enough

I feel youre going about this a little backwards, in that youre trying to see the most watts you can get out of a coil, instead of how much is safe for the battery...theyre interchangeable as it turns out in this case, but im referring to your mindset
