I did a brief search but to no avail, is it common for vaping to dry out ones mouth?

Very common, particularly in the early stages.
It doesn't effect me much, but then again I drink about two litres of earl grey a day.
What I do suffer from is 'gummy mouth' particularly with high VG concoctions like bobas bounty.
More frequent brushing seems to help, which can't be a bad thing.

I get it when the ratio is too high in VG.

I mix it to 80/20 now, max.

Drinking more alcohol helps me forget I have a dry mouth

    Yes, almost beer o'clock EST.
I'll just finish the last cup of tea and find a Bittburger.
No, I don't really suffer from dry mouth.

I really fretted over this when I first started. Also because I suffer from a lot of nasal congestion etc, it was a real concern to me, & made me even think vapeing just wasn't for me

A lot of people told me it would pass & a lot suggested upping the water intake. I did increase it a bit, but nowhere to the level I should have. And I felt pretty guilty about that.
But then, suddenly, a few weeks later, I'm thinking to myself "Oh wow! That dry mouth effect has gone!"

So I would say, 1) give it time, but you could also 2) speed up the process by being far more diligent about increasing the water in take better than I did. (meantime, sucking on a few peppermints, barley sugars, whatever, helped me a lot)
